Teeth whitening, Hollywood calls!

Cosmetic dentistry was always an indulgence of the rich, the famous and the beautiful people. Today it is the indulgence of everyone. Not just movie stars and pop stars, footballers and WAGS can indulge in having great looking teeth, but now everyone can. If you are a WAG or movie/sports celebrity then a veneer is probably what you are looking for, if you’re a fan of these people then a home kit or salon whitening is what you are most likely looking for. The home kits are really easy to use and more often than not they produce a really efficient effect. They cost less than £50 in most cases and are available in chemists and on the internet. The kit consists of a gum-shield that needs making into a mould of your teeth, to do this you need to soften it in hot water and then bite into it to form an impression of your teeth. A bleaching agent is then mixed and added to the inside of the mould. You then simply bite back onto the shield and let the agent do its job of bleaching your teeth white. Another and more efficient method is available at salons and even in your home. It is a fairly new way of whitening teeth and works very well. A technician does the work so the cost is kept down, a gel is pasted onto your teeth and a rubber gum-shield is then placed in your mouth. This does two jobs, first of all it keeps your mouth open and secondly it protects your gums. Once the shield is in place a machine is used to produce an intense light that reacts with the gel to colour you teeth white, it may need a repeat session, but it usually works in one sitting. You have to be disciplined with both these methods, that means you are restricted to what you eat and drink, but all in all both methods are effective and do exactly what they say on the tin; so to speak. Both these whitening methods are at the cheaper end of the market, but that doesn’t mean they are ineffective, they have their place in the teeth whitening market place. For a more comprehensive way to this cosmetic way of teeth whitening you can always try veneers. Veneers are quite simply a covering on the tooth that gives the affect of a natural tooth, both in colour and texture.
